Lokaven offers incredibly unique experiences for travel enthusiasts by providing a platform that empowers uniques and undiscoverable local activities, agents, and guides to connect with a broader audience
Lokaven is an early stage, self-funded startup owned by Aniqma. It connects travelers with hosts in a single platform.
During my time here, I held multiple roles, including product designer, product manager (responsible for managing, organizing and overseeing product development and product team) and lastly I also worked as a front-end developer.
I successfully delivered several products during my time here, including two mobile apps, a website, as well as the logo, and designing the visual identity.
Visual Identity
Since Lokaven was a newly established startup, I had the opportunity to design and shape the identity of the brand. I designed and developed the visual style, typeface & typography, colors scheme, the logo, supergraphic, brand guidelines, and posters. These assets served as the foundation for all products, marketing and brand collaterals.
Mobile apps
Lokaven is a platform that connects Host and Guest (travelers), we developed two mobile apps for each users. I designed both mobile apps during my time here.
Website
We had one website that served as a marketing site and landing page for all the experiences listed on our platform. In addition to designing the website, I also contributed to building it by leveraging VueJS and Tailwindcss.
Lesson learned
Lokaven was the first company i worked for that required me to take on multiple roles outside of product design/design roles. It provides me with valuable lessons in both product design and product management.
One of the most important lessons i learned was that wearing too many hats will eventually lead to burnout. I realized the importance of improving my delegation skill, fostering collaboration, and enhancing communication.
Regarding product management, I discovered that effective management of a partially-remote team relies on establishing clear communication pattern early on within the organization. Emphasizing async communication and collaboration among team members plays crucial role in enhancing our productivity.
